An upscale residential neighborhood just inland from Meireles. Not on the beach, but close enough by Uber. Better restaurant scene than Meireles, more local atmosphere, and generally lower hotel prices for equivalent quality.
Aldeota is where Fortaleza’s middle and upper-middle class actually lives. It has better independent restaurants than Meireles, more interesting streets, and a lower concentration of tourist traps. Not the right choice if you want to roll out of bed and onto the beach, but a good option if you want more local character.
